ECB - 11th meeting

During its 11th meeting, the Europol Cooperation Board (ECB) adopted a number of documents and discussed a wide range of matters.

About ECB

The Europol Cooperation Board (ECB) is an advisory body composed of representatives of the national supervisory authorities of the European Union Member States (except Denmark) and of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS).

The members representing the national supervisory authorities and the EDPS closely cooperate with each other on specific issues requiring national involvement and to ensure the consistent application of Regulation (EU) 2016/794 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) throughout the Union.

In order to facilitate the cooperation between the EDPS and the national supervisory authorities, the Cooperation Board meet whenever necessary, and at least twice a year as required by Regulation (EU) 2016/794.

31 May 2022 ECB 11TH MEETING ON 31 MAY 2022

On 31 May 2022, the Europol Cooperation Board (ECB) will convene for its 11th meeting. This will be a hybrid meeting that will take place online and at the premises of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS).

Due to the imminent entry into force of the amended Europol Regulation, the current model of coordinated supervision of Europol will be replaced with the single model of coordinated supervision laid down in Article 62 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1725. Therefore, this will be the last meeting of the ECB.

08 Feb 2022 10TH MEETING OF THE JOINT PARLIAMENTARY SCRUTINY GROUP (JPSG) ON EUROPOL

On 8 February 2022, the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group (JPSG) on the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) will hold its 10th meeting. The meeting will be hosted by the Assemblée Nationale of France in Paris.

Professor François Pellegrini, Chair of the Europol Cooperation Board (ECB), will present his contribution on the scrutiny of Europol’s activities between October 2021 and February 2022 to the JPSG.
